After seeing a Hase Bikes cargo bike in a magazine, Markus Stitz’ became obsessed with finding an appropriate route to take one bikepacking. He eventually landed on a 1,100-kilometer route between Scotland and Germany via the Route YC. Initially developed as a driving route, Markus helped turn the Route YC into a cycling route, made up of three separate routes ranging from 150 to 415 kilometers paired with nine shorter rides. Markus’ trip started on December 16th in the seaside village Staithes in North Yorkshire, England, and finished in Erfurt, Germany, eight days later.
