Designed as the ultimate urban bicycle for adventures from your front door, the new Kruch GTREX is available for pre-order today with complete builds starting at just $1,500. Find everything you need to know here…
The new Kruch GTREX started after a friend of Corey Kruchkowski, owner of Kruch Bicycles, posed the following question: “If one were to view the urban landscape as rideable terrain, what would the ultimate bicycle be for navigating it?” Corey took this idea to heart and obsessed over it for two years. Prototypes were built and tested everywhere they could think of, including bike parks, trails, pump tracks, paved pathways, the pub, and everywhere in between.
The Kruch GTREX is designed around a China-made TIG-welded 4130 Chromoly steel frame, a matching segmented fork, and 29″ wheels. It has clearance for 29 x 2.3″ tires, internal dropper post routing, sliding dropouts, and external cable routing. The fork, which is suspension-corrected for a 120mm fork, has three-pack mounts for extra cargo and water. The frame has additional mounting points for cages and bolt-on bags, and each frame includes a matching steel bar with a 780mm width, 100mm rise, and 9° sweep.
The GTREX is offered in three distinct builds (single-speed complete, classic complete, and tactical complete), a frameset, or as a frame/fork/bar combination. Each of the builds comes with a carefully curated list of robust parts from Kruch’s partners at Race Face, Shimano, Sun Ringle, Maxxis, and Manitou. Frames are customizable for an upcharge, allowing customers to add additional bottle bosses, rack mounts, or pick a completely custom color. There will only ever be 55 GTREX bikes made: each bike comes with a stainless steel tag and is numbered from 1 to 55.
The GTREX is available in three sizes, all featuring short 425mm chainstays, a 69° head tube angle, and 79° seat tube angle. According to Kruch, it’s designed to be comfortable for hours at a time, makes a great bikepacking rig, and won’t feel out of place on gravel roads and zipping around town.
