The Bikepacking Journal Issue 04
The fourth issue of The Bikepacking Journal hit mailboxes this spring, and the upcoming fifth issue is just around the corner! Take a peek inside our beautiful biannually printed publication here, along with details on how you can join our Bikepacking Collective so you never miss another issue again…
The fourth issue of The Bikepacking Journal hit our Bikepacking Collective members’ mailboxes around the world during the height of global COVID-19 lockdowns in late spring 2020, just as most of us were needing a bit of escape more than ever. Given the many ways life was disrupted by the onset of the pandemic, we were thrilled to be able to deliver it to our supporters as a small contribution to helping maintain some sense of normalcy.
The diverse compilation of writing and photography we presented within the 160 pages of The Bikepacking Journal 04 explored a fascinating range of themes, from hair-raising tales of perseverance, to stories of lighthearted misadventure, to meditations on culture and politics. As always, we hope this issue left readers dreaming up trips to come and discovering new meaning from past experiences.
As a thank you to our members for supporting our work, we also included a beautiful hand-illustrated map of the Baja Divide Route by Australian artist Alex Hotchin (@alex_hotchin) along with Issue 04. If you’re not yet a member of the Bikepacking Collective, get signed up before the October 17th deadline and you’ll never miss another issue of The Bikepacking Journal again (along with lots of other great benefits).
