It’s hard to believe it’s been eight years since Salsa first released its EXP bikepacking bag lineup, with the inventive (at the time) EXP Anything Cradle front and center. There have been a few updates since then, and it’s great to see a complete refresh of their EXP lineup today. Find details on everything below.
Salsa EXP Series Bikepacking Bags
The updated Salsa EXP Series bags are designed to fit a wide range of bikes and be equally suitable for quick overnighters and multi-week expeditions. The lineup includes the Cholla Frame Bag, Saguaro Seat Bag, and Agave Pannier. Find details on all three below.
Salsa EXP Cholla Frame Bag
The Cholla Frame Bag is a versatile half-frame bag designed to fit a wider range of Salsa frames and rider sizes. It’s direct-mount capable with compatible Salsa frames and fits a wide range of non-Salsa frames with included straps. It’s made of 1000D Cordura nylon body with 400D nylon lining, uses molded-tooth zippers and has drive and non-drive-side pockets. The Cholla Frame Bag comes in six sizes and costs $95. Salsa EXP Saguaro Seat Bag
The Saguaro Seat Bag is a quick-loading, holster-style seat bag with a removable dry bag for easy off-bike loading. It includes a welded waterproof dry bag with an air purge valve, has a four-point connection to the saddle rails for stability, is dropper post compatible, and should fit almost any bike. The Saguaro Seat Bag comes in two sizes, Medium (9 liters) and Large (14 liters), and costs $120 and $140, respectively, and the welded dry bag is also available to purchase on its own for $50 or $55. Salsa EXP Agave Pannier
The Salsa Agave Pannier is a simple roll-top pannier with adjustable Rixen and Kaul rack attachment hardware. They use a welded, waterproof construction, there is a mesh front pocket and reflective side patches, and they can hold up to 12.5L. Salsa includes shims that should make them fit most racks.
